VAIO Z Canvas hybrid laptop tablet lands with Apple designer pricetag
The VAIO Z Canvas appears to be going straight against and toe-to-toe with Apple and Microsoft for the prize of designer head honcho.
The 12.3-inch Z Canvas is aimed squarely at creative types such as photo editors, illustrators and graphic designers, you know the type. This is VAIO’s reasoning behind the detachable keyboard and the precision of a digitised stylus.
The Z Canvas is encased in an anodized aluminium alloy body with a reinforced glass 2560 x 1704 resolution display. The stylus nib has been optimised and the screen composition textured with a layer of resin between the touch panel and LCD in order to apparently recreate a pen-to-paper experience as closely as possible.
The stylus itself can recognise 1024 levels of pressure, four-point curve detection and utilises two buttons to open up OneNote for a quick draw or an instant screen clipping tool. The keyboard is Bluetooth-connected and does not need to be attached to the tablet in order to be used.
The tablet runs Windows 10 Pro on a 4th generation Intel Core i7 at 2.2GHz (with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.4GHz).
Depending on your memory configuration, your requirement to sit down before you read the following:
