Twitter #uksnow With Your Snow Rating
You’ve gotta love Twitter!
A programmer has developed a Twitter Google mashup to allow Twitter users in the UK to track how bad the snow is – by tagging your Tweet with #uksnow.
The website takes the snow reports from Twitter users based on their postcode and a snow rating out of 10.
This is then automatically mapped on to a google map so Twitter users can see where the snow has fallen and how good it is.
All Twitter users have to do is Tweet the first half of your postcode, plus the amount of snow you’re seeing:
“#uksnow [POSTCODE] [SCORE]/10”. So your tag will look something like this: “#uksnow NW3 6/10”.
The site automatically updates every minute.
Not surprisingly the London Twitter community seems to be providing the most information at present.
I’ve tweeted pics of Haverstock Hill and St Pancras Old Church so far 🙂
