Train Times – live UK Mainline and Underground train map

Ever needed a “vaguely live map” of train times? Whether it be for London Kings Cross, Birmingham New Street, Manchester Piccadilly or elsewhere in the UK, I have just the thing for you.

Traintimes.org.uk is handy and fascinating in equal measures.

The collection of (approximately) live train maps shows where all the services are on any given line. The site also displays the London Underground map and as well as a live departure board.

The coloured dots show, in as close to real time as you can get, exactly where each train is. So, if you’re the kind of person that leaves your home at the latest possible moment, now you have a tool to make sure you can cut it even finer in the morning.

Also handy for when planning to leave the office/pub so you’re not caught out by the late running or cancellation of the service from London Liverpool Street.

The maps use the TFL API and now that almost everyone will have access to free Wi-Fi on the Tube (sorry Three customers) I dare say that this site will prove useful for commuters and visitors to London.
