Space saving vertical record player

You may have noticed that I have a passion for Hi-Fi and occasionally get the chance to review some rather high end equipment. Like you I was lead to believe that CDs and then MP3s were the future of audio but, a recent resurgence of vinyl, people are buying turntables once more.

If you are looking for something a bit different to spin your records on then the Floating Record Vertical turntable may be for you.

As the name suggests, the record is held vertically and is played in that postition. It reminds me of a cross between the Sony PS-F5 Flamingo record player and turntables from the likes of Pro-Ject.

The Kickstarter campaign is aiming for $50,000 and currently stands at $188,506 with all the early bird offers taken – saying that though the next step up is only another 20 bucks at $349.

I do like the look of it and how it shows off the record when being played – a great bonus when spinning coloured vinyl or picture disks.

I’m not sure about the integrated stereo speakers as me and lots like me are always looking for the best way of isolating our turntables from vibrations, including those induced by our speakers.

That said, if you already have speakers then you can connect them to the record player via RCA outputs.
