Sony will Have Google TV’s on the Shelves in Time for Christmas
Well – remember what I said about Sony and Samsung getting into bed with Google?
Sony has announced today that it will have its first Internet TV out in time for Christmas in the US.
According to the company, Sony will introduce â€œSony Internet TVâ€ which will become the worldâ€™s first TV to incorporate the “Google TV” platform by the end of this year.
You’ll will be able to search and access content from your tele and from the interwebs by navigating an easy-to-use interface. Sony promises a rich Internet experience on consumersâ€™ TVs.
â€œSony Internet TVâ€ is scheduled to first launch in the US this Autumn with the lineup featuring both a standalone TV model and set top box-type unit incorporating a Blu-ray Disc drive.
â€œThe combination of Sonyâ€™s industry-leading product design, engineering and development expertise with the flexibility and growth potential of Googleâ€™s innovative, open-source Android platform will provide consumers with a world of new and exciting Internet user experiences. Sony has fallen in love with Google and has gushed about the two companies taking their relationship to the next level in connection with Sonyâ€™s wide range of entertainment assets to establish new forms of cloud-based user experiences.
