Sony PlayStation Vita Manual Online and Unboxing Video

The PS Vita went on sale in Japan yesterday and is on tour in the UK soon but, seeing as it’s actually a region-free, you could import one right now. If you have, or just want to know what it can do, then you’ll be glad to know that Sony has uploaded the whole manual online.

The online Vita manual not only gives you the full gen on the next generation portable gamers functions it also points out its shortcomings.

Apparently the PSN videos are in standard definition and not HD. So, if you want to watch something in 720p HD you’ll need to load it yourself using Vita’s Content Manager. The other thing that has come to light is that the PS Vita does not support multiple accounts. If you want to use your account on your buddy’s Vita you’ll need to perform a full factory reset which has the distinct probability of ruining said friendship. Surely a simple memorycard swap would’ve been the ideal here? All seems a bit daft to me but, there you go.

Back to this manual. Well, as you’d expect from Sony PlayStation, the menu has a colourful and intuitive layout. Follow the route to what you need to know starting off at titles including Party, PS Store, near, Friends, Group Messaging, Trophies, and so on.

The Vita goes on sale in the UK on 22 February, and will cost £229 for the Wi-Fi-only model, or £279.99 for the 3G-enabled.
