New Sony hybrid ultrabook appears in Dixons training video

new sony slider ultrabook tabletSony appears to be ready to refresh its range of VAIO Duo Windows 8 ultrabooks with the launch of a new slimmer 13-inch model. A leaked internal training video from UK retailer Dixons shows what appears to be Sony’s new Surface-like ultrabook hybrid, which features the same backlit keyboard and “Surf Slider” hinge.

Sony has already had a swipe at making a Windows 8 hybrid in the form of the VAIO Duo 11, and now a clip has appeared on YouTube apparently showing an unannounced 13-inch Ultrabook slider with a 1080p Triluminos touchscreen display.

Word is that the video is being used for training at high street electronics vendor, Dixons, and in addition to repeatedly collapsing and opening the slim white and silver unit, the demonstrator plays around with a stylus in Microsoft’s Fresh Paint.

Near the end of the clip captions highlight the SurfSlider design, backlit keyboard, ClearAudio+ and ActiveSleep tech, as well as its 10 hours of battery life.

NFC is also said to be on board, along with an 8-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor, Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD.

The grainy video is embedded below so you can decide for yourself if this is a new product or fakery.
