Sony Ericsson w995 – Multimedia Powerhouse 8.1MP / 8GB Mobile Phone
Sony Ericsson is set to unleash its new flagship Walkman branded W995 smartphone within the next few days and its gonna be a big deal!
It will arrive to the fanfare of a £4.5 million campaign that aims to reassert the company’s focus on creating a “multimedia” powerhouse.
It sounds like the day of Cybershot and Walkman intergaration is here as Sony Ericsson have shoe-horned in the kinda camera tech you’d expect on a Cybershot phone for the first time on a Walkman device.
So, now you’ll get an 8.1 megapixel snapper with an LED flash and face detection technology as well as the pretty faultless multimedia, audio and video features we’ve all come to expect from a W-Series blower. If you like your SE phones (I’ve had a few and they’ve typically been bullet-proof) then this must be at the top of your list.
SE are underlining the multimedia powerhouse statement by packing in a great 2.6-inch 320×240 screen as well as giving owners five free movie downloads a month to watch on the handset and on your PC. It’s also the latest phone to have the BBC iPlayer built-in, which will be accessible through the built in Wi-Fi.
The lightweight handset carries 8GB of memory and a handy kick-stand at the back for watching video content on your desk or fold-away table on train or plane.
This all sounds fabby but there’s also the Satio waiting in the wings. It features a touchscreen, Walkman tech and a 12.1 megapixel camera….this is the one that was originally known as Idou…. more on that story when I get it 😉
