Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman Smartphone – Pay as You Go Music Phone

I had a good fondle of the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman phone at SE’s summer party last night held at a swanky Argyll Street venue.

I have fond memories of my Sony Ericsson W800i – it was virtually bullet-proof, simple to use and had great sound. My main gripe was that you *had* to use SE headphones because of the silly connector.

If you’re looking for a 21st Century version then you need to check out the Mix Walkman.

This tiny smartphone packs a 3.2MP camera and a 3-inch touchscreen. The operating system, if you’ve toyed with the Xperia Mini will seem very familiar to you.

Walkman used to be the name for music on the move and the Mix certainly packs in a few nifty features including a dedicated Walkman app button which will get you to the music player quick smart!

There’s a Zappin button which lets you preview the chorus of the next song and, should you feel like being annoying on the commute, a karaoke function that automatically lowers the vocals so that you can kill your favourite tunes.

As this is a modern Walkman, social networking has been built in – digging a tune you’re playing then ‘Like’ it. This will pop up on your Facebook page with info grabbed via Gracenote so that your friends can applaud your knowledge on obscure Swedish prog indie jazz bands.

If this sounds like your kinda thing you’ll be relieved to know that you can buy a Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman right now for just £80 from Vodafone and pay-as-you-go 🙂
