Silverlight for Xbox360 Announcement at MIX11 Expected

It looks as though Microsoft could be unveiling something tasty for their Xbox 360 at MIX11 in Las Vegas next week.

Word has it that the Microsoft gaming console may be receiving its own app store that will sit nicely with the expected arrival of the Silverlight platform to Xbox360.

Silverlight’s arrival to the Xbox has been bandied about for a few months now and the app development framework would empower developers to bring their Windows Phone 7 apps across from mobiles to the world of home consoles.

This might be just enough to keep Microsoft one step ahead of their main rivals, Sony and Nintendo.

It may also be a timely announcement as there is defintely something bubbling away in both Sony’s and Nintendo’s labs right now.
