See-Through Speakers are a Clear Winner in any Home

If you believe that speakers should be heard and not seen then this is transparently right up your amp!

This new speaker is being designed in order to avoid the current “war going on in the living rooms of the world – the never ending battle between home electronics and interior design”.

What you have is a speaker enclosure that is constructed from 4 sheets of glass as to provide your rooms with a much more aesthetically pleasing speaker which should seemlessly fit in any room without clashing with the surrounding decor.

The glass speaker is also fitted with a WiFi transmitter, which can be plugged into any device with a headphone jack. Allowing you to stream music from your device directly to the glass speaker without the need for cables.

There’s also been a great deal of thought regarding what’s left behind for our mother earth to contend with. Here’s what the site says:

Being big is good for sound quality, but not so good for shipping. Any other speaker will ship a lot of air around the globe before ending up in your living room. This speaker ships in a small, flat package that goes in through your mailbox. The glass sheets making up the box is being ordered through the glass repair shop closest to every single customer. In that way the speaker reduces shipping with up to 90%, and supports local handicraft in one go. A very economical and ecological solution.

The speaker is then assembled at home, IKEA style. This also means that the components that breaks first (the rubber ring and the speaker cone) can be easily replaced, keeping the product away from any landfill.

Well, there you have it. Is the glass bodied speaker a clear winner or is something like the Planet L by Elipson more your thing?
