Samsung Continuum Dual Screen Phone Details and Pics – Still not Official
Could we be seeing the much whispered about Samsung Continuum being unveiled next week?
Everything is pointing to a yes as Samsung not only have a phone event circled on their calendar for next week, the full specifications of the Continuum seemed to have already found their way onto the interwebs.
Last month saw pictures of the dual AMOLED screen packing Continuum pop up on the ‘holiday gift idea’ page of US network provider Verizon Wireless.
Samsung have not actually admitted to the existence of the handset but that hasn’t prevented details of the 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display which is paired with a smaller 1.8-inch display hitting the web. That second screen is said to show you incoming text messages, notifications, RSS feeds and stock prices without the handset’s primary display needing to be activated – all you have to do is squeeze its bottom. OOooooo missus!
The Android 2.1 device (no froyo?) will use Bing for search and, most likely, will have the 1GHz Hummingbird processor under the hood and be rocking a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Expect 2GB of on-board memory which is boosted to 8GB via a pre-installed SD card. Connectivity will include 3G and Wi-Fi.
