Red Hot Vaio – Sony Recalling Burning Laptops
If your C or F series Sony Vaio gets a tad too hot for comfort then you really need to read this.
Sony is recalling over half-a-million Vaio laptops that were sold since January 2010.
So if you’ve got one of the 259,000 sold in the US, 103,000 in Europe, 120,000 in Asia or 52,000 in Japan then you’d better check if your lappy overheats.
Apparently there’s a gremlin in the internal temperature control system which could have your Vaio overheating ending up in a mangled laptop – possibly so much so that it could burn the user!
If you have one of the models mentioned then you are advised to download the BIOS software update from the web site or contact customer service so that they can collect the laptop for repairs.
