Project Cars racing game gets added VR with Project Morpheus

project cars morpheusProject Cars, the great looking racing game coming from Slightly Mad Studios, will be compatible with Sony’s Project Morpheus virtual reality headset.

With Sony announcing their Morpheus virtual reality project I guessed it wasn’t going to be long before titles were built to accommodate the new headset.

London-based Slightly Mad Studios have revealed that their Project Cars racing simulator would be the ideal fit for the VR Morpheus.

We’re proud to announce today that Project Cars will be supporting Project Morpheus giving players a totally fresh and exhilarating new perspective on what it feels like to sit in the cockpit of a high-performance machine screaming around a beautiful location,

That does sound like my idea of fun, especially as the screen shots look amazing.

Virtual reality is a perfect fit for racing games since the game world literally comes rushing towards you from the distance and the increased sense of depth and speed that stereoscopic vision affords you makes this incredibly real and tangible.

We think players are going to be blown away by Project Morpheus when they get their hands on it. Project Cars is all about stepping into the shoes of a race driver and taking that ultimate journey towards the hall of fame. Virtual reality and Project Morpheus are going to allow you to experience every start light, every corner, every finish line now through the driver’s eyes like never before.

Project CARS will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Wii U and Steam OS in November.
