Panasonic pull the plug on The Jungle – Mobile MMORPG Player
It was an odd beast – but in a good way.
Panasonic’s “Jungle” was heading to be a small handheld computer that ran on Linux which enabled users to hop on to their favourite massively-multiplayer online games like World of Warcraft and continue their quest on the move.
Well – that was the plan anyhoooo.
It sounds like The Jungle was too small to be able to perform properly even though it was a bit of a chunkster and Panasonic discovered that a lot of the big MMOs refused to run on Linux.
According to a statement released today, “Panasonic decided to suspend further development due to changes in the market and in our own strategic direction.”
Were you looking forward to seeing The Jungle? Would you rather play Angry Birds on your phone or do you see the 3DS or Xperia Play as the future?
