Orange OPC and Tiago Fella Vega Going for Speed Record at CES 2011

Remember that neat computer/guitar combo all-in-one from Orange that I wrote about?

Well, Orange Amplifiers have brought their OPC to CES 2011 and along with Intel who are providing the 2nd Generation Core i5 will be having a go at breaking a world record.

The compact all in one Guitar Amplifier and Recording Studio Workstation has been designed to let musicians and songwriters to play, record and edit with the pre-installed software.

The OPC is the perfect ‘Musicians Personal Computer’ and will work straight out of the box with no setting up necessary… just plug in, create, play, record and share to the web.  With this combo Orange have put claim to producing the first PC to feature an integrated audio interface enabling the user to plug in a guitar or microphone using a standard 1/4″ jack plug!

Orange amp endorsee, Tiago Della Vega, will be looking to break his own Guinness World Record for playing Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumble Bee using the OPC.  His current record is playing the piece at 320 BPM without any mistakes which has stood since 9th May 2009.

Tiago’s recording breaking attempt will be at 12:20 PST (15.20 EST, 20.20 GMT) on Friday, January 7th and will be live streamed on; facebook and http://www.orangeopc.com/ces or http://www.orangeamps.com/ces

The OPC comes with well over $1000 of premium software, including the following packages;

The OPC will hit you for £1020 + vat and will be available in the first quarter of 2011.
