Nintendo Wii2 (WiiII HD) Coming Soon on Back of Wii Love?
Well, it has been a year since the last time I wrote about the Nintendo Wii 2 (or WiiII) .
Since Nintendo has just published a press release confirming that they’ve now have sold 30 million Wii’s in the states alone, which makes it the fastest console to reach that milestone in the history of gaming, it’s time to breathe some new life into the Wii2 chat.
The original Wii was launched waaaaaaay back in 2006 and has beaten the next best selling console to the 30 million mark by a full 15 months.
Now, although Nintendo keeps denying that a Wii2 is on its way – that’s what I’d expect them to say 😉
There’s rumblings on the interweblogosphere that a Wii2 could pop-up next year.
Thing is that there’s a couple of things that Ninte will have to do as standard.
HD is a must as the HD gaming scene is bouncing along with 3D taking some tentative steps.
Blu-ray would also make sense but that would bump the price up a tad and would Blu-ray be totally necessary? Would discs for that matter?
Let’s face it downloads are the way forward – for publishers at least. I remember going to the market to score some used-games on the cheap but since downloads it’s too easy to hook-up to Valve, Xbox Live and the Playstation Network and the likes to get your game on.
What would you expect to see from a Wii2?
