Motorola XOOM Set to Redefine the Tablet Category

We all knew that CES 2011 was going to be tablet overload didn’t we?

Well, add the Motorola XOOM Tablet to the list.

Remember the tongue-in-cheek jibe at every other tablet throughout history? Well now the 10.1-inch Google Honeycomb tablet is here.

The Motorola XOOM has a lot to live up to after the teaser and it’s off to a decent start with Android 3.0 and an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor.

The 10.1-inch 1280 x 800p display will happily sling out 16:9 cinema-spec video to your grateful eyes so it’s looking good.

Motorola brag that the XOOM “redefines the tablet device category by providing more ways to have fun, connect with friends and stay productive on the go”.

Well, it has a pair of cameras (a 2-megapixel front-facing and a 720p HD video recording 5-megapixel round back) and the XOOM will play nice with Adobe Flash Player 10.1 which is more than can be said for the current top of the class 😉

Storage is 32GB which can be enlargened thanks to the SD card slot and the XOOM has Wi-Fi and 3G (4G ready) already baked-in.

Motorola XOOM will appear in the states during the first quarter of 2011.

Check out the video below and let me know if the XOOM matches its hype 🙂
