Machulis Wants to put the X in Xbox with Kinect Interactive Smut

Like all things tech – it’s only a matter of time til the adult entertainment industry takes it, twists it and, more often than not, pushes that tech to the limits.

If it wasn’t for porn we wouldn’t have had the recordable video cassette and camcorders so soon for instance.

Well, it seems that the latest bit of gear to get the X-rated treatment is Microsoft’s very own Kinect.

Kyle Machulis, who runs tech sex site slashdong.org (don’t Google it at work!) has also been named as a Kinect-hacking authority by New Scientist magazine. Yeah – we know that Microsoft says that the device hasn’t been hacked at all even though a quick search on YouTube for Kinect hand puppet and Kinect lightsaber (to name but two) will all show otherwise 😉

Good ol’ Kyle predicts motion-controlled naughtiness as soon as Christmas!

Machulis, who claims to have experimented with Kinect pornography by sticking his tongue out and waving a sex toy in front of the gaming camera, has come across (oooer) a few stumbling blocks: “The pattern the Kinect uses to get depth data is made for picking up full bodies to control video games, isn’t quite so good at picking up minutiae about those bodies.”

Unfortunately our rude bits aren’t that great for the Kinect to look at either – “Genitalia, for the most part, are not a major geometric feature of the human body when taken in perspective of physical size….Neither are they normally used in the control of video games, be they rated [for all] or [for adults only].” Charming!

He goes on to state that it is possible and makes it almost sound like the perfect party game: “The Kinect alleviates the need for having hardware, because now as long as we have a shot of the ‘action,’ as it were, we can use that ‘gesture’ as a control,” Machulis wrote. “Not only that, the gesture itself is the toy. Or you could employ a toy under the gesture.”

So – you might see some XxxBox Kinect titles in the near future. Excited?
