New MacBook Pro Photos and Specs – Pics Prove Light Peak Thunderbolt
Following on from the breaking news I posted a couple of days ago about the new MacBook Pro, here are some leaked shots to back it up.
The new MacBook laptops are ready for unleashing but who can wait for official announcements?
Thanks to our European cousins, fscklog and MacBidouille, GadgetyNews can reveal what they claim to be the new MacBook Pro’s spec and photos.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is stated to have SDXC memory card support, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a second gen Intel Core i5 2.3GHz processor and “Thunderbolt†support.
Thunderbolt is apparently the name given by Apple for Intel’s Light Peak – the super speedy (10GBps) USB killer.
Word on the street is that Apple has been in on the Light Peak building which Intel is pencilled in to unveil to journo’s tomorrow in San Francisco. Notice the lightening bolt icon 😉
No mention of Nvidia graphics or the much rumoured solid state drive for OS X installation amongst these MacBook Pro snippits though.
Can’t wait to see these in the flesh and test out Light Peak/Thunderbolt 🙂
