LG Optimus 3D Phone to Appear in Spain – Glasses Free Display
LG has confirmed that they will indeed make another world’s first to follow on from their debut dual-core phone – they will be bringing the Optimus 3D to Mobile World Congress in a couple of weeks’ time.
The press release gives a taster to what to expect from the tri-dimensional telephone and it seems that LG aren’t being too modest about what we’ll be getting.
LG proudly proclaim: “At this year’s Mobile World Congress, LG will unveil the LG Optimus 3D, the world’s first 3D smartphone offering consumers a full 3D experience right in the palm of their hands.”
As well as the glasses-free 3D display LG has confirmed that the upcoming device will tout a dual-lens camera so you can produce your own 3D photos and content direct from the handset.
“LG’s most advanced smart phone to date will feature a dual-lens camera for 3D recording, a glasses-free LCD panel for 3D viewing and diverse connectivity options such as HDMI and DLNA for 3D content sharing anytime, anywhere.”
Expect movies and 3D handheld gaming to be the most likely bandwagons to be pounced, especially if LG have been following the Nintendo 3DS hype.
“The LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue — one of the biggest problems facing the 3D market — with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device,”
The thing is – where will all this content come from? Will LG launch their own 3D marketplace or will they go into some strange partnership with some other company?
Anyhooo – that’s all I have at the moment. No news about UK release or pricing but I’ll be sure to let you know if you’re interested.
