LG DoublePlay Phone has Dual Screens and Two Keyboards

If, like Kyocera and their Echo, you believe that a mobile phone should rock twin screens that the LG DoublePlay may be up your street.

Not only does the DoublePlay have a pair of screens the new LG blower is equipped with a split keyboard.

The LG DoublePlay is a T-Mobile exclusive in the states and packs a 3.5-inch screen with a split keyboard which slides out to also reveal a 2-inch display.

The 2-inch display can operate independently or in tandem with the main screen. This screen operates like an app dock so you can sling all your favourite app icons there for quick launching. You can also sling updates and the likes to your chosen social networks from the smaller screen whilst keeping an eye on what’s happening on the main one.

“The evolving nature of texting trends and mobile technology has brought LG and T-Mobile together to create a device that celebrates multi-tasking beyond a powerful processor,” said Carl Brown, director of trade marketing for LG Mobile. “With its split keyboard and dual screens, LG DoublePlay’s impressive hardware made it the obvious choice for the official mobile phone of the 2011 National Texting Championship. LG is proud to be leading the charge in the next generation of mobile messaging devices while continuing its legacy as a leading manufacturer in QWERTY keyboard devices.”

LG is planning to use the DoublePlay in several texting challenges at the 2011 LG National Texting Championship where there’s a $50,000 prize at stake.

The DoublePlay is loaded with a 1.0 GHz Single core snapdragon processor running Android 2.3 Ginergbread and is kitted out with a 5MP with the abilty to capture 720p HD video.
