I Leica the look of the Huawei P9 event invitation
Remember the Huawei and Leica partnership that I reported on? Well, my invitation to a special event next month has a distinctly photographic quality to it – could the P9 be loaded with Leica optics?
The official invitation to Huawei’s London event has just landed in my inbox in the style of a long roll of 35mm photographic film – I have cropped the pic so as not to annoy my contact by showing the location and time of the event.
I am hoping that the roll of film-style graphic points to something new already from this partnership, and it comes just after the Chinese phone cobbler’s tease pic of the P9 that suggests its new flagship phone will feature twin rear cameras.
Other rumored specs for the Huawei P9 include a 5.2-inch display as well as a 5MP front-facing camera, 32GB of storage, a Kirin 950 processor and 3GB of RAM.
It’s also expected that Huawei will load the phone with Android 6 Marshmallow software wrapped up in it’s own Emotion user interface.
This latest reveal gives us a better idea what Huawei meant by #OO on its April 6 event invite. While some suggested it could be related to VR, it’s now becoming clear the focus (heh!) will be on the double camera setup on the back of the Huawei P9.
GadgetyNews will be reporting from Huawei’s April 6 event, where we’ll meet the flagship P9 handset as well as some other tech, hopefully – so stay Gadgety!
