LaCie Blade Runner 4TB Philippe Starck designed harddrive
If I was in the market for a stylish hard drive my first stop will always be with LaCie as they have a knack of matching huge amounts of style to their hardware as well as stacks of functionality. This trend continues with their awesome Blade Runner.
The LaCie Blade Runner packs four terabytes of storage into an enclosure that would not look out of place in a modern art gallery or sculpture park.
LaCie has once again called on the skills of one Philippe Starck who has come up with a designe which surrounds an anthropomorphically-shaped core with a series of sturdy aluminum blades that double as a heatsink, not just eye candy.
With four terabytes of storage inside, and ten gigabytes online, the USB 3.0 drive’s £200 price tag is almost justified.
Just like a piece of art, however, if you want one on your desk you’ll have to get in fast as LaCie is only producing 9,999 of them in a relatively limited run.
