iPhone Getting Parental Controls – Adult Content to Follow?
Apple has recently rejected an app created by a developer from The Netherlands because it covered content from various newspapers from all over the world – including those ‘Page 3 Stunnas’ from Brit rag The Sun.
He went back and got rid of the Page 3 topless ‘lovelies’ and Apple has now approved this app and it is available in the app store.
But, it’s the rejection letter that has grabbed my attention:
Thank you for submitting Newspaper to the App Store. We’ve reviewed Newspaper and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store at this time because it contains explicit content which is in violation of Section 3.3.12 from the iPhone SDK Agreement which states:
“Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.), or other content or materials that in Apple’s reasonable judgement may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod touch users.”
Please see the attached screenshots as examples of the above mentioned objectionable content.
Parental Controls have been announced for iPhone OS 3.0. It would be appropriate to resubmit your application for review once this feature is available.
There you go -Â Parental controls are coming to iPhone OS 3.0!
This will probably mean that Apple could start allowing adult content into app store!
This could bring in a whole slew of extra revenue to Apple if it allows apps from that other sector of the entertainment industry 😉
Mobile Tech Addicts found this first – their boobdar is better than mine 🙂
