Intel reveal slim all-in-one PC which doubles up as huge tablet
How many times have you wished that your tablet had a 20-inch screen? Me neither, but you might have wished that you could pick up your desktop computer and take it in to another room without having to disconnect a spaghetti nest of cables. Intel’s Black Brook is a new all-in-one PC that can multitask as a huge tablet.
All-in-one (AIO) PCs are handy and neat, from a cable management point-of-view, and Intel has just revealed its Black Brook reference design.
The Black Brook is a slim tablet-y device that packs a kickstand as well as a handle. It’s also got a full HD 20-inch display, quad mics, multitouch support and Intel’s RealSense 3D cameras for gesture-based meddling.
It might be big for a tablet, dare I say that it’s more a slab than a slate?, but at around 20mm thick it sure is slender. That is including the built-in battery.
Yup, just like any other tablet, the Black Brook is equipped with a rechargeable battery which will power it through five hours of use away from a plug socket.
You see, the whole point of this design is to create a truly portable AIO. Check out the video below. Check it out and let me know what you think.
