Honor 6X – first dual camera mid-range phone
Honor has just this second launched its latest mid-range flagship device, the Honor 6X, in the UK, Europe and US at CES 2017.
This new smartphone is all set to break new ground at CES.
Not only does the Honor 6X feature an easy to navigate user interface and two day battery life, there’s more.
Honor are proud to announce that they are the only smartphone brand with a dual camera device under £250!
Exciting times, gadgety faithful.
Two lenses: flagship photos on mid-tier phone
As you can guess, Honor are really pushing those twin lenses. The photographic pairing is made up of a 12 megapixel main sensor, equipped with phase autofocus and LED flash, and a secondary 2 megapixel sensor.
The boast is that, even in low light, noise levels are kept to a minimum thanks to Deep Trench Isolation (DTI). This cleverness isolates pixels to suppress blur. The result? We’re promised a sharper picture quality with better colour reproduction, and no more challenges getting subjects in focus.
The lens system consists of six layers to enhance uniformity of light and reduce screen distortion significantly. To add to this, Phase Detection Autofocus Technology (PDAF) will have things in focus in a sprightly 0.3 seconds.
Wide Aperture mode sets the user up with a host of photographic effects, including watermarks, whilst guaranteeing a simple-to-use editing.
It’s not all just happening around the back either!
The 8mp front camera has a Prism ISP for superb selfies. The face-firing camera has a 77 degree angle capture. There is also intelligent software that is self-adaptive for skin tone and can auto touch up faces.
That’s cool and a bit scary all at the same time.
Display
The Honor 6X is loaded with a 5.5-inch, 2.5D display. The curved back sits neatly in the palm of a hand.
The smooth, rounded edges and 2.5D glass give the handset a premium look and feel.
Honor has implemented a blue light filter. So, using your smartphone before bed no longer has an impact on your sleep by helping to relieve visual fatigue.
And finally, full HD resolution and outdoor brightness modes of 450nit make it the ideal smartphone for watching films on the go.
Honor 6X packs an epic battery
Under the hood beats a Kirin 655 octa-core CPU. This dishes out high-performance (4x 2.1GHz) for gaming and online browsing, and employs power efficiency (4x 1.7GHz) for long standby and low-priority tasks.
There’s up to 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Thanks to the power-efficient chipset design and a 3,340mAh battery you could get 2.2 days without recharging.
The fingerprint scanner not only unlocks the 6X in 0.3 seconds. It can also be used to quickly browse through photos, and more.
The Honor 6X comes with a new EMUI feature called Wi-Fi Bridge. This allows you to use the Honor 6X as a Wi-Fi extender. A handy trick if there are devices that are out of Wi-Fi range that you want to connect to your network.
Honor 6X looks good too
This would all amount to nothing if the Honor 6X didn’t have the looks. Fortunately, it does.
It is also tough. The new handset has been designed to withstand rigid product testing. It is housed in a high-strength aluminium alloy which has been anodized twice to render it more scratch-resistant.
Wilkin Lee, Honor UK Sales and Marketing Manager said
We’ve created the Honor 6X for digitally savvy millennials who live by a philosophy of ‘double or nothing.’ Coupling strong performance with revolutionary a display, extended battery life and photographic innovation, we’ve delivered a handset that has a very affordable price tag without compromising on quality. The Honor 6X device is certainly a strong contender for the flagship title in the mid-range smartphone category this year, and we’re proud to be kicking-off 2017 with its launch at CES.”
