Google Talk Video Calling Arrives on Android Phones
Fancy some video chat frolics on your Android phone? Well, it looks like Google Talk for Android smartphones now supports video and voice calling!
The Android Honeycomb tablet-only feature is now being rolled out so that the video-capable Google Talk client will soon appear on Nexus S devices “in the next few weeks†as part of the Android 2.3.4 OTA update.
The update for all the other Android 2.3+ devices is expected “in the futureâ€.
It does look like if you want all the latest tweaks from Google on your Android blower then the Nexus S is the one you need to be rocking! Owners of the Samsung-built Nexus S will gain the new video and voice chat over Google Talk from as early as today!
If the update doesn’t appear on your Nexus S straight away be patient my Android loving friends – Google has said that the update may take a few weeks until it lands on every handset.
But, when it does reach your Android phone at least you can be smug in the knowledge that your video calls will work over 3G, 4G as well as Wi-Fi – unlike me and my fellow iPhone 4 owners.
Have a gander at the video demonstration below and please let me know if you’ve got the update and what you think about it.
