Garmin Vivofit fitness tracker now available in the UK

Garmin VivofitIf you made a new year’s resolution to be healthier in 2014 then the weather til now may have been more than a tad off-putting. Now that feels like Spring has finally sprung, it may be time to get out there. The Garmin Vivofit will help with your training and is available now.

The Garmin Vivofit activity tracker is available to buy in the UK now exclusively at John Lewis.

The Garmin Vivofit will track your progress, help set goals and reminders so you can keep active and monitor your steps, give you a goal countdown, show calories burnt and distance covered. It will also monitor your sleep.

It’s equipped with an always-on curved display, which will also tell you the time, and Garmin says that the battery will last you over a year and can be replaced by the user.

With the touch of a button, you can wirelessly sync Vivofit with Garmin Connect – Garmin’s online community – to see a complete picture of your progress, including weight loss, which you can either keep private or, of course, share with others.

The Vivofit is water-resistant, so you’ll have no worries about wearing it in the rain, but taking things a step further, it’s also ANT+ compatible. This means that you are able to use it with heart rate monitors which will provide you with invaluable information whether you are a serious athlete or simply concerned about your overall level of fitness.

In the US there is a pricing option with a heart rate monitor included but John Lewis doesn’t offer this just yet.

The Garmin Vivofit is available now for £99 which is pretty decent when compared with offerings from Nike and the like.

Vivofit is available in black, purple, teal, blue and slate and comes with both a small and a large adjustable bracelet.

I hope to get a hands-on test with the Vivofit very soon so keep coming back for the review.
