Facebook and Twitter Buddying Up even with Subscribe Addition – Tweet from Facebook Soon!

Even though Facebook has recently added its ‘Subscribe’ option it looks as though it will be adding Twitter integration with an option for updating the micro-blogging service to be added “soon”.

After having a good ol’ rummage around a developers’ newsletter which outlines the aforementioned Subscribe feature of the site there were some interesting Twitter morsels.

The newsletter states:

Can I update my Twitter followers from Facebook?

Yes, soon you’ll be able to update your Twitter account directly from Facebook. To get started:

1) Go to facebook.com/twitter

2) Link your profile or Page to your Twitter account

Once you link your accounts, your Twitter account will be updated every time you post a public update to Facebook.

Going over to facebook.com/twitter you can see that this service is currently live for Facebook Pages.

So, that’s handy for the likes of SUBSET and, of course GadgetyNews as this will allow sharing of updates, links, photos, notes and events with all the fuzz rockers followers on their Twitter-feed squirted automagically from the Facebook Page.

Fortunately, to avoid over spamming everyone or sharing pictures of a drunken night out to the Twitterverse there’s a choice of what you want to share on both networks.

The Subscribe feature is a new addition that lets you share content from your personal profile with subscribers, and not just your friends.

This means that folk that haven’t been befriended can still stalk you. Again though, you don’t have to share everything with them – you can keep certain details just for your friends.

To allow people to subscribe to your profile, go to the Subscriptions Page and check the Allow Subscribers box.
