Facebook for iPhone 3.0 Coming Very Soon
Facebook for the iPhone is pretty good but there are moments when you want to RSVP to an event or see the Notes pages.
Well, Facebook for iPhone 3.0 “is coming very soon” and should sort some that out as well as a bunch of other things.
It wont, however, offer the push notifications the iPhone OS 3.0 update has technically allowed.
Facebook says of this functionality “you can expect it in a 3.1 update later this summer” despite admitting it’s “the one feature everyone is asking for”.
The improvements, changes and updates in Facebook for iPhone 3.0 are as follows:
- The “new” News Feed
- Like
- Events (including the ability to RSVP)
- Notes Pages Create new photo albums
- Upload photos to any album Zoom into photos
- Easier photo tagging
- Profile Pictures albums
- A new home sreen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications
- Add your favorite profiles and pages to the home screen
- Better Notifications (they link to the comments so you can reply)
- Quickly call or text people right from the Friends page
- Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call (AT LAST!)
Facebook says it “can’t predict an exact date” that 3.0 will go live, but it’s about “98% done” and will be submitted to Apple soon.
More news as and when 😉
