Apple iOS 4.3 Announced

Perhaps a little overlooked at today’s Apple event thanks to something called iPad 2 – Apple also announced the latest version of its iOS, 4.3.

iOS 4.3 includes an updated browser, syncing to iTunes via Wi-Fi, AirPlay improvements and some other tasty treats.

First off – Safari is getting a new “Nitro” JavaScript engine. This should speed up surfing the web.

Then comes that Wi-Fi syncing which is pretty swish as it allows you to sling your music onto your iPhone without having to plug it into your laptop.  Bonus!

The AirPlay improvements means that you can view photo slideshows over AppleTV and things of that nature, which are nice but not enough to make me swoon.

A small but important addition is the ability for the iPad hardware switch to be set to handle mute or rotation locking – Personally that’s the best bit I reckon 🙂

iOS 4.3 will be free on March 11th on iPad, iPhone (GSM), and iPod Touch (3rd and 4th Gen)
