AOC launches friendly-priced 24-inch 4K monitor
We all know that size isn’t important, right? Well, 24-inch monitors might not get the gasp inducing welcome that larger ones get but that’s not to say the 24-incher is going to be short of smarts either. AOC proudly introduce its new U2477PWQ 4K monitor in order to prove this point.
The display in the AOC U2477PWQ is a PLS panel (similar to IPS technology) and boasts a viewing angle of 178 degrees and operates at 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The response time is listed as just four millieseconds, which should be swift enough for most gamers or professionals.
Other specifications include support for a 16.7 million colors, a brightness rating of 300 cd/m2, and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.
The new AOC monitor is equipped with HDMI 2.0, which offers bandwidth up to 18Gbps and lets you squirt 4K content to it at up to 60 frames per second. You also get DVI, DisplayPort and VGA connectors for added connectivity. The DVI and VGA connectors do not support 4K resolution, but can be used for legacy support of older PCs.
The AOC U2477PWQ will be available in November 2015. The MSRP will be £289. As with all of its displays, AOC offers a 3-year warranty with on-site exchange service.
