Acer Predator 21 X laptop: Curved screen, twin GTX 1080s
Acer wants to show that you no longer have to be desk-bound in order to enjoy a curved gaming monitor and dual top-flight graphics processor units (GPUs).
The company’s new laptop is loaded with a 21-inch curved, ultra-wide display that promises more immersion than you’re used to with portable gaming.
Acer Predator 21 X hardware
That 21-inch IPS screen might only dish out 2560 x 1080 resolution, but NVIDIA G-Sync support is also present so should be decent.
That’s not the only trick that this portable machine has.
Power comes by way of 7th-generation Intel Core processors and two GeForce GTX 1080 graphic cards.
Keeping all that below the red line are five cooling fans. There’s space for four DD4 slots which you can pack with up to 64GB of RAM. You also have the option of loading it with up to 4TB of SSD storage for all your games.
All of that weighs in at 8KG – so not an ultra portable then. I’d love to see the power brick for this beast too!
Acer Predator 21 X price and availability
This is not going to be a bulk seller, and Acer knows that. This is more of a proof of engineering acumen.
Each Predator 21 X will be made to order, starting in January of next year. No word on starting price as yet. Time to start saving, you flash LAN gamers!
