Acer Aspire 3951 – Apple MacBook Air at Half the Price

Love the idea of owning a spanky new MacBook Air but baulk at the account hemorrhaging asking price? Yeah, me too. We should all then welcome the freshly leaked Acer Aspire 3951 which is pracically the same as the skinny Apple – at about half the price!

The 13.1-ich Aspire 3951 is said to land with a Sandy Bridge Intel Core processor slipped inside the 13mm thin, lightweight (1.4kg) aluminium case.

As well as being potent and portable you can work on the lightweight laptop for 6 hours solid before needing to locate a power outlet. If you’re the kind of person that leaves their machines on stand-by; well, the Aspire 3951 will wait for you for 30 days!

When you decide to put the new Acer into action it will spring to life in 1.7 seconds.

It will stand toe-to-toe with Apple’s latest MacBook Air with its 250GB serial drive, which is upgradable to 500GB. You can even opt for a 160GB SSD 🙂

Round the back of the MBA taunting Acer you’ll find a HDMI and two USB (I’m hoping they’re 3.0) ports. Perhaps the port placement is to avoid being sued by Apple 😉

Now, here comes the bestest bit my gadgety friends – rumour has it that the RRP on this machine will be between £475 or £590 depending on how you configure it!

Yup – the MacBook Air starts at £849 and the Acer Aspire 3951 kicks off at £475!

I do hope I get to try one out around its release date sometime in October!
