Price Cut Works Magic for Xbox 360 – 40% Rise in Sales

Sales of the XBox 360 have rocketed since the price cut.

Gamesindustry.biz are reporting that the sales hike was immediate. The cuts came into effect on Friday 14th March and by midnight on Saturday they’d gone crazy-bananas!

The cut, planned to stem the PS3’s post-format-war buoyancy, saw the basic 360 Arcade sliced from £199.99 to £159.99, making it the cheapest third generation console on the market.

The X-Box 360 (20GB) dropped from £249.99 to £199.99 and the Elite (120GB) incarnation fell from £349.99 to £249.99.

With the expected Easter Holiday surge around the corner Microsoft must be ready for a happy holiday indeed.
