Not only do we have a new MacBook and a choice of iMacs the little Magic Mouse gets all touchy!
So – a brand-new version of the entry-level white MacBook eh?
What’s new?
You get the upper-class addition of the same glass multi-touch trackpad that’s usually seen larking about on the more expensive aluminium MacBook Pro.
Other bits on the list include a 13 inch model include a backlit keyboard as standard, a more durable unibody plastic body (like a cheaper version of the aluminium MacBook Pro job), and up to 7 hours of battery life.
OS X Snow Leopard purrs along on a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and the same NvidiaGeForce 9400M graphics chip found in the entry-level aluminium MacBook Pro.
Not too shabby for £799 methinks
Also getting a wash-and-brush up is Apples iMac line of all-in-one desktops.
The spanky new LED backlit 21.5 and 27 inch widescreen iMacs come with a choice of graphics and hard-drive options, as well as that much longed for SD card slot and that new multi-touch Magic Mouse.
As rumoured there is still a distinct lack of Blu-ray.
These new models get an edge-to-edge glass design and aluminium unibody.
Sporting 4GB of 1,066MHz DDR3 memory, with breathing space to build-up to 16GB across four SO-DIMM slots.
They’re also swaggering about with a DVD drive, AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, FireWire, iSight webcam and that SD card slot.
The 21.5 inch screen boasts 1920×1080 pixel HD resolution.
You get the choice of chip: the first includes graphics powered by an integrated Nvidia GeForce 9400M chip, and a 500GB hard drive, for £950. The second offers a discrete ATI Radeon HD 4670 card and 1TB hard drive, for £1,200.
The new 27 inch model is rocking 2560×1440-pixel display.
The 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo version includes the ATI Radeon HD 4670 discrete graphics.
Whereas the 2.66GHz version is packing either the new quad-core Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs and ATI Radeon HD 4850 discrete graphics.
You get the option of roomy 1TB or 2TB hard drives.
The new iMacs are bundled with a wireless keyboard and the new wireless Magic Mouse. It’s a mouse with multi-touch – yeah, really, just like the iPod Touch and iPhone!
Remember those Parrott speakers by Phillipe Starck that appeared here around Christmas last year?
Well, he enjoyed that slice of consumer tech so much he’s only gone over to French hardware manufacturer, LaCie, and added that Starck “Je na se qua” to some hard drives.
LaCie have a bit of a history of adding some nice [...]

Last week I had the good fortune to join in Firebox’s show-and-tell preview of their Christmas line.
Apart from the fizzy vodka, which was rather nice, it was a real magic wand that remained in my mind as I left The Gallery on Charing Cross Road.
The Kymera wand is the product of Chris Barnardo of The Wand [...]

Aston Martins are great.
If you asked: “Jay; what’s your favourite Aston Martin?” – I couldn’t do it. It would be like asking a father which is his favourite child.
What I can say though is the 1957 Le Mans racer DBR2 would certainly feature in the top 5, even top 3!
It seems that Rizk Automobiles [...]
Most people will have at least heard of Tarot cards – when I had the time I learned to read them and actually gave readings to a load of friends.
I use a traditional Rider-Waite deck but the geek in me was drawn to this cool spin on the Tarot card.
This modern reworking is what happens [...]
Kodak has announced the successor to its Zi6 pocket camcorder with the UK launch of the Flip-rivaling Kodak Zi8 digital video camera which should shove the Flip HD’s nose out of joint.

I have a soft spot for Panasonic cameras and now they’ve announced that it is updating its FZ28 model with a new version packing an 18x optical super zoom.
The new snapper was announced on Monday and is named the DMC-FZ35 in the US and the DMC-FZ38 in the UK – slightly confusing for the likes [...]
We knew that the clever Modu had hit production lines but now it’s made another bold step.
It has actually been released and is out there in the really-real world!
The carrier to debut this modular mobile is none-other than the Israel company’s local network Cellcom.
To deter any people saying things like “yerright – that’s real!” Mobo [...]

Asus added the Eee PC T91 to its EeePC line-up as predicted.

We first saw the Asus Eee PC T91 at CES [...]
Spoonfed want to make it less likely that you’ll miss stuff in this glorious capital called Lodon.
I love livining in London as there’s always something to do – but sometimes that can also mean that the chances of me finding out about something after it’s happened is also more likely.
The amount of gigs, burlesque and [...]
