iPod Shuffle Would Look Great with New Touchscreen

by Jay Garrett on July 11, 2010

Now, this little touchscreen has been hinted at being a new interface for a Mac – possibly for the MacBook Pro.

Thing is, at 3 x 3cm I reckon they could and should go bigger for a laptop touch interface.

The other idea that has been going round the interweblogosphere is that it would be the ideal upgrade for the iPod Shuffle.

The pic above does make the idea quite adorable – but the thing is that would this take the Shuffle over what you’d be happy to pay for it?

tapStick largeWhen is a case not a case?

When it also gives you control over your iPod Shuffle and allows you to use your own cans without having to use Scosche’s adapter.

Scosche’s new iPod shuffle case, the tapSTICK (no – not Chapstick!), is now available and it looks pretty neat.

The Scosche tapSTICK simply slides onto the iPod shuffle.

It does increase the little shuffle’s length a little but small price to pay for being able to shove your favourite headphones directly into the unit.

The other fabby thing about this case-cum-control unit is that all the regular buttons are replicated on the side – including the voice description of a song.

If I had a Shuffle I’d go to Scosche’s site and pay the £24.95 asking price for the tapSTICK iPod shuffle case!

So, what’s gonna happen in the next eight days? Apple has already confirmed it’s having an iPod bash on September 9 and now they seem to have axed their current line of tune chuckers. Apparently Apple Authorized Resellers have commented that current iPod stock is rapidly running out, if not gone already, and that all [...]

Here’s a very cool design concept that could be used for the next-gen iPod Shuffle. Designer Tryi Yeh has put forward a small, square-ish player that sports a slidey-up screen. As well as looking totally sexy and making the unit smaller (depending on the mode it’s in) the peek-a-boo display would also be nice and [...]

Righty, you’ve probably read the bad news about the iPod Shuffle. Yup.  Apple, in their wisdom, have moved all of the buttons from the Shuffle itself and put them on the earbuds cable. So, now there’s plenty of manufacturers out there making their own versions especially for the Shuffle and for ca$h. Fine. But, like [...]

New iPod Shuffle

The new Shuffle is identical to its older sibling but, at 2GB, has twice the storage.  This equates to around 500 songs clipped to your clothing. It costs £45 with the 1GB version reduced to an extremely reasonable £32.  There will probably be more Apple announcements next Tuesday.  iPhone SDK please ;0,
