Apple iPad UK Release Date Clarified

by Jay Garrett on March 8, 2010

Apple has almost come up with a definite UK release date for their iPad.

Where stateside gadgety fans will be able to pounce on the new Wi-Fi tablet on April 3rd and the 3G version later the same month we in the UK will get both by the end of April.

US customers can pre-order the Wi-Fi models from 12 March, but not so for us in Blighty – we can’t pre-release purchase at all.

Apple has also said that the iBooks app and iBookstore will be available in the US on 3 April, with “additional countries added later this year”. I’m hoping that the land of the Union Flag will also be getting this, even though there’s indications to the contrary, as surely this is one of the major selling points of the iPad – or am I still confused?

MiLi iPhone Pico Projector Now on Sale in UK

by Jay Garrett on February 28, 2010

Remember the MiLi projector? The pico that’s been specially designed to chuck images from your iPhone or iPod onto a nearby wall?

Well, IWOOT now has them in stock which means if you want to throw a 70 inch image on to a clear, flat vertical surface you’re in luck.

To see your stored pics or videos go large all you have to do is flip the MiLi open, and shove your Appley device in the space that the lens unit took up.

It will play nice with an iPhone or iPod of any type – you can even hook it up to other sources via the AV in/out function.

It includes stereo speakers which is handy to share the sound as well as the vision.

It charges via USB, and a 3-hour charge will give you 1.5 hours of viewing time. It’ll also charge any device that’s plugged into it, including the ability to charge non-Apple mobile phones.

The MiLi iPhone Projector costs £230 and should be available now.

When Dell grabbed Alienware for itself four years ago three key execs decided to say thanks, but no thanks.
Instead they formed ‘Origin‘ and went about building things the way Alienware originally did and created the Eon18 laptop.
The Eon18 has a distinct Alienwareness about it and, as you’d expect, this lappy is quite the customisable puter. [...]

Thumbnail image for Paradigm Shift Full Colour Touchscreen eReaders for £125 – CES 2010

It looks like the eReader tag is going to get as confusing as the Netbook is.
My understanding was that an eReader was an e-Ink sporting tablet-esque gadget whos main purpose was to save me carting magazines, newspapers and a load of paperbacks around with me.
Is the gadgety thing still an eReader when it has a [...]
