samsung-omnia-pro-b7610-louvreSamsung has been playing its cards fairly close to its mobile phone chest regarding the details of the Omnia Pro B7610 (aka, B7610 Louvre) QWERTY slider – but at least we have official pics!

The picture was taken at CommunicAsia and Akihabara News has kindly posted them up.

The phone on the right is the Omnia Pro B7320, which at least looks the same as the Jack ‘Blackberry-esque’ candybar already available to AT&T customers.

Sammy are still being coy about the B7610 details but rumour has it that it will have a 3.5 inch AMOLED display with 800×480 pixel resolution, 5.1 megapixel camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA data, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, 1GB built-in with microSDHC expansion, and 800MHz processor driving Windows Mobile.

I wait for Samsung to tell me differently ;)

Samsung Omnia Pro Out in July

by Jay G on April 27, 2009

samsung_omnia_proIf you believe in rumours and that sort of thing; word is that the Samsung Omnia Pro is being prepped for a July release.

The Samsung Omnia Pro is said to be flashing around a 3.5 inch (800 x 480) Active Matrix OLED touchscreen display and a full slidey-out QWERTY keypad.

It will also be packing a 5 megapixel camera that’ll be assisted by image stabilisation software, flash and autofocus.

No pricing details have been released yet – indeed Samsung hasn’t actually confirmed the release at all – but HDblog claim that the Samsung Omnia Pro will retail at a ‘very competitive’ price, probably somewhere under €500.

Price may be kept down if the Omnia Pro utilises the same 624 MHz processsor as the previous Omnia.

Contrary to previous rumours, the Samsung Omnia Pro will run Windows Mobile 6.1 and, in theory, should be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5 when that finally makes an appearance.

I must point out that this lovely pick which you are gawing at is actually a mock-up made by staff at HDblog – but they seem quite sure of themselves as to the artist realism.

Asus looks to be prepping a Touch Screen mobile phone of their very own by the looks of this Omnia-esque blower.
It seems to be sporting a large (WQVGA or WVGA) touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, a trackball for non-touch navigation, and the predictable 3G radios / WiFi.
There’s all sorts of speculation on the Windows Mobile Power User [...]
