fit-pc-2-compulabCompuLab is quite well known for producing tinsy-tiny puters.

This mini-marvel measures a mere 4 x 4.5 x 1.05 inches and weighs in at only13 ounces, the fit-PC2i is hailed as the planet’s smallest dual gigabit Ethernet-equipped PC and at the mo I’m willing to believe it.

Don’t be fooled by its small size though.

It aint no toy – this is a real and viable PC.

The fit-PC2i is based around an Intel Z5xx (1.1 to 2 GHz) processor, the fit adds up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, built-in WiFi and space for a 2.5 inch HDD.

You can hook it up via four USB 2.0 ports, 2 gigabit Ethernet ports, S/PDIF and, confusingly, DVI – surely that space could be used for HDMI?

It supports 1080p video playback, includes an IR receiver and runs Windows 7. This means as a media machine sat next to your huge HDTV it would do a thoroughly decent job methinks.

The rig consists of a 100% aluminium die-cast body, and even at full load it sips just 8 watts of power.

So – add it to Santa’s list, get him to order from the Fit PC site and wait ’til January for it to ship.

Prices range from $245-$499.

Look at its lovliness below :)

inspiron-zino-hdLooking for a Windows-based Mac Mini alike?

Do you need to be able to choose from a multitude of colours and designs to suit your hip pad?

Say “welllllllll heeeeeeelloooooo!” to the new Dell Inspiron Zino HD.

The mini desk-top puter measures a mere 7.8 x 7.8 x 3.4 inches.

As I mentioned just seconds ago: It’s personalisable.

There’s 10 optional interchangeable colours and designs as well as the range of AMD Athlon processors, ATI Mobility Radeon graphics, up to 1TB hard disk and up to 8GB RAM.

You get four USB ports, a headphone connector, a four-in-one-memory card reader, Wi-Fi, VGA, eSATA and HDMI connectors – the latter of which in conjunction with the optional Blu-ray drive will turn the little cutey into a wee HD home cinema pc.

More choice comes with the OS: Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Ubuntu Linux 9.04.

Price-wise you’re looking at £299 for the base model, get the puter and chuck in a monitor for £531 and for the top-of-the-ranger you’ll be paying £744.
