metal_app_g1With Cupcake apparently flying through the air I thought I’d report on another “great” thing to happen to G1’s.

Apparently the built-in compass of the G1 can be used as a metal detector – not a very powerful one by the looks of things but it does work.

So, if you can’t see those keys that are right next to your phone……………

Perhaps this might impress friends in the pub.

Check out the vid below :)

Thanks to the peeps over at HDblog.it for shooting and sharing the flick.

Metal Gear Solid Touch Now Out!

by Jay Garrett on March 19, 2009

As I reported Metal Gear Solid Touch for iPhone and iPod touch has been released.

Konami has announced that it’s now available on the App store for $7.99.

Konami says that players join forces with Snake as he fights mercs from Private Military Companies, Haven Troopers, Gekko and the bosses of B&B corps.

Good ol’ Snake in this, his last chapter, uses both short and long-range weapons in the game.

MGS Touch has over 20 different levels and featured those familiar enemies from previous MGS titles.

Now here’s a thing.
To get your own custom effects pedal can be a little on the expensive side – so why not do a Brian May and build your own?
The OpenStomp Coyote-1, whilst still in the prototype phase, seems a pretty well thought-out open source guitar effects module.
It has a Parallax Propeller 8-core processor running at 80MHz that can even [...]
