Yup folks!

It’s infographic time again!! :)

Although the iProd/iTablet/iSlate/iLash/iWhatever hasn’t actually been seen and its existence is still yet to be confirmed by the makers; the lovely Lalawag people have drawn up the history of this most rumoured of products.

How daft are we all going to look if the thing doesn’t actually exist? ;)

But then seeing as Apple’s lawyers took Valleywag to court over their Apple Tablet Scavenger Hunt….. I think Apple pretty much proved that the iTablet is real right then :p

I’m just glad that it wasn’t just another rumoured spotting, blurry photo (I wish!) or some overheard bar-talk about the size of the home button.

Apple iPad Tablet Coming in October

by Jay Garrett on July 13, 2009

apple-itablet-patentWell, things went quiet on the iPad Apple Tablet for a bit but now it’s back and it seems to be backed up by fairly reliable peoples and it all seems scarily plausable.

China Times has added the heat with a claim of a 9.7-inch touchscreen netbook to debut as soon as October for around $800.

CT also claims that Wintek, and Dynapack have all received orders direct from Apple while Foxconn (not Quanta) will be the main manufacturer.

Now – the guesswork is whether this will be actually a regular netbook, a convertible like the T91, or a 9.7-inch slate like a giant iPod touch as hinted by the Wall Steet Journal.

In fact, the Chinese-language report translated into English refers to it as “Apple’s netbook (or a “tablet” as many call it)” which is the main source of confusion.

There are people poo-pooing this and believe that Apple would no way follow the industry trends.

But I’d like to point out that Sony said that netbooks are a race to the bottom – then released the Vaio W.

So – will Apple feel too left out of this market sector and bounce one of these out with their own Appley spin on it?

I got this low-down thanks to MacRumors and Gizmodo
