Bluetooth Lightsaber Duelling comes to iPhone

by Jay Garrett on March 19, 2010

Everyone that I know that owns an iPhone also has the lightsaber app loaded onto it :)

It goes without saying that the only thing that’s missing is that you can’t really duel amongst your friends.

Well, from next month you will be able to challenge your Sith or Jedi foes to a battle.

Just grab the new Bluetooth-enabled Lightsaber Duel and get ready.

What would be cool is if your wins and failed battles could be shared over Facebook so that you could start a league :)

THQ Wireless has even included 11 new Star Wars characters whose lightsabers you can use!

Remember: “This was the formal weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. More skill than simple sight was required for its use. An elegant weapon. It was a symbol as well. Anyone can use a blaster or a fusioncutter—but to use a lightsaber well was a mark of someone cut above the ordinary.”

lightsaber-flashlightHow cool is this?

The lightsaber flashlight (or torch to us Brits) is a replica of Darth Vader’s weapon of choice and, unfortunately, is only loaded with 4 red LEDs instead of a laser that can cut through any young Jedi wannabe who would be using their own torch (complete with sound-effects!).

It’s powered by 3 (Sith standard) AAA batteries and is perfect keeping in your pocket should a Padawan fancy a rumble – either that or for lighting your way back to your tent, finding the key-hole or for when you have sinus problems and fancy saying things like: “Today will be a day long remembered. It has seen the death of Kenobi, and soon the fall of the rebellion.” and “Impressive. Most impressive. Obi-Wan has taught you well. You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.”

Costs $25

Although the thought of being able to train your mind to acheive telekinesis in a Prof Xavier/Jedi fashion is pretty special.
What is actually is is a simplified EEG (Electroencephalography – a way to measure [...]

Whether you’re Jedi or Sith breakfast is still the most important meal of the day.

Star Wars comes to the iPhone – Use The Force!

THQ Wireless has released a set of screenshots showing what Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is going to look like on Apple’s 3Gesus iPhone.
Apparently the game will utilise the touch screen to activate force powers, such as drawing a lightning bolt to activate force lightning.
It’s looking pretty cool to me and a definite step up [...]

To truly be one with the Force a young Jedi should let it flow through them – let it guide them in making their own weapon, the Lightsaber.
Failing that, get a kit online – namely the Force FC Lightsaber Construction set.

Could you imagine a better way of utilising the Wii’s motion sensing controller than to recreate your favourite Star Wars face-offs?  We all know that Lucasarts have already announced a lightsaber peripheral for the Wii – just not when it will be released.  Never fear though; Play.com is offering an alternative for 15 quid.
The Wii Light Sword (not [...]
