iPad Preorders Start on Thursday

by Jay Garrett on February 23, 2010

Love it or question its point – you can’t ignore the Apple iPad.

No matter which side of the fence you stand you can’t argue the fact that it will sell millions.

If you are jonesing for some fruity tablet time the joyous day may almost be at hand!

Rumours have surfaced that the Apple iPad pre-orders will begin this Thursday – 2 DAYS AWAY!

Steve Jobs said at launch that the Wi-Fi-enabled iPad would hit the streets 60 days after the announcement but Appadvice reckons that pre-orders are just round the corner.

Pre-orders will be for the Wifi version initially, with the 3G-enabled tablet following later. Initial orders are also likely to be US-only.

Are you going to be adding your name?

Are you laughing at the lack of Flash and hoping that HTML5 will make everything OK?

Yup folks!

It’s infographic time again!! :)

Although the iProd/iTablet/iSlate/iLash/iWhatever hasn’t actually been seen and its existence is still yet to be confirmed by the makers; the lovely Lalawag people have drawn up the history of this most rumoured of products.

How daft are we all going to look if the thing doesn’t actually exist? ;)

But then seeing as Apple’s lawyers took Valleywag to court over their Apple Tablet Scavenger Hunt….. I think Apple pretty much proved that the iTablet is real right then :p

I’m just glad that it wasn’t just another rumoured spotting, blurry photo (I wish!) or some overheard bar-talk about the size of the home button.

Ok – so this is actually new tech and not something from when flint knapping was actually a life-or-death skill to have.
There’s a new company going by the name of Cranberry who is selling a DVD made from high-tech stone (yes, stone) that will store data for up to 1,000 years.
That obviously dampens the [...]

After this morning’s news it seems that The Pirate Bay is officially history!
Don’t panic though – by history I am referring to the fact that TPB is going to be part of a museum display.
A museum in Sweden will display one of the site’s servers as part of an exhibit.
The National Museum of Science and Technology [...]

How we love an Apple concept.
The clean lines, the whiteness and the chances are that, eventually, some version of it will appear.
Unplggd have uncovered an Apple phone concept from back 1983 (when I was 12 – awwwwwww!).
Who’d have thought that we’d have to wait a further 24 years before we got an Apple phone!
Just imagine; [...]

Radio Controlled Black Widow – Not For the Timid

I know that if I was foolish enough to buy one of these that I’d wake up dead and the last thing that I would see was my girlfriend force-feeding me this gadget; not necessarily via my mouth either!
But I risk all to share with you the joy of this RC Black Widow [...]

UK Gets National Video Game Archive

1972 - I was one year old, still in Calgary and did not yet have a brother.
At the same time Pong, the world’s first successful video game, hit the market.  Nobody could even begin to guess how big video gaming would become.
But it has become huge; both financially and culturally.
So much so that people are taking steps to ensure the [...]
