Scott PilgrimCult comic book character, Scott Pilgrim, is to be made into the star of a videogame as well as a film!

This has been confirmed by creator Brian Lee O’Malley at the San Diego Comic Convention over the weekend.

If you’re not familiar with this cult comic (Subset‘s singer, Rom, is a huge fan!) here’s a quick outline:

The graphic novel features Scott as a twenty-something unemployed slacker who falls for “perfect” Amazon delivery girl – Ramona Flowers. However, in order to date her, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends (one of which is actually a girl!).

What begins as your typical emo indie book quickly becomes an over-the-top manga-like epic full of colorful battles and ridiculous silliness.

The upcoming game is set to debut around the time of the feature film (which stars Arrested Development‘s Michael Cera).

The game is still early in development by Ubisoft Montreal, so few details are available. What is known is that the game follows the plot of the movie (which in turn follows the plot of the book). O’Malley expects it to be a side-scrolling beat-em-up.

The downside is that we all have to wait until 2010, when the film is due, to find out more.

iphone-bunnies-and-flowersIt’s getting silly!

I’m trying to avoid reporting everything I hear about the new iPhone but this was too daft to miss and not share.

Apparently the new iPhone (back to being the Video) will be offered in 12 variants, according to a screenshot leaked to iSpazio from a Canadian operator.

Noteworthy is the colourful 64GB models of the phone.

How does “green w/flowers” and “yellow w/fluffy bunnies” sound……

Someone’s been smokin summink I reckon.

21st Century Pot Goes Digital – Plants Get Emotive

May 29, 2008 Click to read more →

This rather fab/spooky design idea from Junyi Heo lets you know how your house-plants are feeling. The pot is packed with sensors measuring temperature, soil moisture and the like and then displays the results as emoticons and symbols. If you do happen to overwater your chlorophyll based buddies the pot is clever enough to drain itself. It charges via USB [...]
