The Mio Moov V780 is one of those curiosities that’ll either take the market by storm or is doomed to sit in the corner of the store.

Mio are hoping that they’ve spotted a gap in the market for a SatNav that’s also capable of chucking out hi-def video through a HDMI slot or onto its 7 inch screen.

To top all that – it also has a keyboard dock kinda like the iPad style.

So, what’s the low-down then?

Well, the Mio Moov V780 is equipped with a 7 inch capacitive WVGA screen and H.263/263, DivX, MP4 and an external TV antenna so watching flicks whilst trapped in a jam should be nice enough.

If you fancy doing some surfing the Moov V780 is rocking Wi-Fi and an option for HSDPA or WiMAX.

When you get back to base you can utilise that HDMI port and watch your vids in 720p video on a flatscreen TV.

I have to applaud Mio for the range of planned accessories that’s being planned for the Moov V780.

My favourite has to be the keyboard dock which converts it into a Windows CE notebook complete with Exchange and Gmail support.

The Mio Moov V780 is set to debut at Mio’s CeBIT press conference this Thursday.

I’m doubtful that there’ll be a firm release date or UK price announced then but – if there is I’ll let you know :)

Leyio Wireless Wrist-Shake File Sharing In UK Soon

by Jay Garrett on January 22, 2009

leyioForget file sharing from computer to computer and be prepared to point and laugh at anyone touting a USB stick.

Leyio does it wirelessly and with just a simple shake of the wrist.

It uses UWB (ultra-wideband) radio connectivity and will allow you can swap your favourite files, photos, music  and movies with another device in seconds!

A 3MB pic will blast across in just 0.3 seconds and a “personal movie in around 20 seconds” – not entirely sure what that last bit means.

If you’re worried about someone else waving your files away;  a fingerprint scanner means your Leyio is loyal only to you.

16GB of storage comes as standard, with USB connectivity available to pull any files from a computer, as well as synchronising new ones.

If your friends haven’t got a Leyio you can hook up their old school USB stick too, transferring just the files you want to, whilst quietly giggling at their use of an outdated drive. PAH!

There’s no price or release date given as yet for the Leyio Personal Sharing Device.

I’m pretty sure that it’s gonna cost more than a regular USB stick and it should appear soon.
