When I Die Screw Me (into the Ground)

by Jay Garrett on February 10, 2010

This should be filed in the ‘Why has this only been thought of?’ files.

No digging, it takes up less space and it seems that it can be used at the edge of lakes and ponds.

The screw-in coffin saves on ground space as you drill your loved one into the ground upright and as there’s less-and-less space to inter people this could be a useful thing.

I love the idea that instead of a lump of stone carrying a few choice words I could have a leaping salmon to confuse bears or a duck to confuse….. people that throw bread at ducks.

Today sees the announcement of the new Sony Ericsson Aspen.

SE’s latest business blower joins the rest of its eco-friends in the GreenHeart range.

Being aimed at the busy business-person you get a QWERTY-board for firing off emails and a touchscreen to ease the multi-tasking.

You’re able to organise and adapt panels to change during the day and use Slide View for quick access to common features.

The user will also be able to view and edit office files easily with one touch operation and jump onto the web in one click.

Your company will rest a little easier after those ‘business lunches’ as, should the handest be left in the back of a cab after that liquid lunch, Microsoft’s MyPhone service will be able to remotely erase phone data.

“Sony Ericsson Aspen™ is the business phone with a conscience, perfect for any consumer or company who want to make a green choice in their daily work life.” Said Quentin Cordier, Global Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson.

“An affordable GreenHeart™ phone with the latest version of Windows Phone, the Sony Ericsson Aspen™ has a rich user interface and powerful productivity tools. But it’s not all about work, stay in touch with the fun parts of life with Media Browser and PlayNow ™, with simple access to social networks and quick and easy access to media files. Find the fun with a-GPS, Google Maps™ and snap pictures with the 3.2megapixel camera.”

Goths seem to be seen as having an overlap with the whole vampire thing.
Well this clever design sounds like it could well be a vampire/goth band………………….
Granted – I’m eagerly awaiting series 3 of True Blood and I have been known to hang out with members of the London Vampire Group and have actually read some [...]

This rather odd scene is the rather groovy and, in my opinion, rather cool Solar Forest concept from Neville Mars.
The nature-inspired design is put forward as a solution for charging electric vehicles and generating solar energy in previously underused parking lots.
So, instead of having car parks being the wide expanse of concrete the Solar [...]

There’s plenty of ways in which we can cut down our power-usage; the most obvious is turning off our tech.
I don’t mean ‘put on stand-by’ but actually turn it off!
My previous statement makes more sense when you take into consideration that devices left on stand-by consumes around 15% of domestic electricity.
So, in order to reduce this bad habit, Rachel Turner, [...]
