PlayStation Move Officially Better Than Xbox Kinect

by Jay Garrett on August 22, 2010

Where once only the Wii roamed the motion gaming arena the two new pretenders are battling for the top spot.

According to a panel of German gaming industry experts the winner of this round is Sony with PlayStation Move beating Microsoft Xbox Kinect to the best hardware accessory prize at the Gamescom 2010 expo.

Is this how it’s going to be on the Christmas best-sellers lists?

How about a run down of all the Gamescon winners?

Well, have a look at this triumphant lot :)

Best of Gamescom: Gran Turismo 5

Best hardware accessory: PlayStation Move

Best console game: Gran Turismo 5

Best mobile/handheld game: Super Scribblenauts

Best online game: Guild Wars 2

Best PC game: Crysis 2

Best Family Entertainment: Kirby’s Epic Yarn

Sharp Releasing 3D Mobile Phone by Christmas 2010

by Jay Garrett on August 4, 2010

Sharp’s march into 3D hasn’t slowed down any and it’s just confirmed that a 3D phone is on the cards and should be on shelves across the planet by the end of 2010 – in time for Christmas lists?

As you may remember – Sharp supplied the glasses-free 3D screens to Nintendo for the 3DS.

Unfortunately Sharp also provided panels for the extremely short-lived Microsoft Kin so they have something to prove.

According to a Sharp spokeswoman, the 3D phone will also be boasting a 3D camera round back.  I’m hoping that it will snap 3D photo’s and video ;)

This is all very exciting but what I need to know is what operating system will this 3D wonder be running?

Let me know what you think – will it be Android, WinMo or something more special?

I know that this sounds like something that Transport for London would come up with but that’s exactly what Internet Service Provider, Talk Talk is saying. Everyone, even gadgety boys and girls, would describe Santa’s mode of transport as being wood-based and reindeer-powered.
