LG Pop Phone – Cheap Solar Powered Touchscreened Mobile

lg popIf you’re in the market for an eco-friendly touchscreen sporting mobile blower the list isn’t exactly huge – especially if you don’t want to empty your wallet/purse.

You may want to check out the LG GD510 Pop.

The Pop is equipped with a 3 inch touchscreen and measures 98 x 50 x 11mm so shouldn’t spoil the line of your tailored hemp suit.

Add on a 3 megapixel camera and memory is supplied by an 8GB microSD card.

You can opt for that solar-powered charger for a little extra.

The LG GD510 Pop goes on sale today at the Carphone Warehouse for £100 on pay as you go or free from £20 per month upwards – although I can’t find the details for the charger on their site yet.

Pixie Lott Fronts Illuvial Range – Feminine Nokias

Pixie LottThe Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Illuvial, Nokia 6700 Illuvial and the Nokia 6303 Illuvial are being flung into the Christmas market and I’m guessing that they’re aimed squarely at the lovely ladies :)

This guess is purely based on the knowledge that there Illuvial editions are coloured in shades of purple and pink, with themed wallpapers, “floral accenting on the rear” and a violet LED backlight for the keypad.

Pixie Lott is the face of this campaign and is quoted as saying:

“I spend loads of time on my mobile, so it’s important to me that it looks good. The phones in the range all look fab – they’re stylish and yet still girlie”.

The Carphone Warehouse exclusives are priced:

  • The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Illuvial is due to be available on a PAYG basis from £99.95, pay monthly from £15 a month.
  • The Nokia 6700 Illuvial will cost £179.95 on PAYG and is available on a pay monthly basis from £20 a month
  • The Nokia 6303 Illuvial gets a PAYG price tag of from £79.95, and pay monthly from £10 a month.

Oh Pants!
That was my exlaimation when the lovely and helpful lady from the Carphone Warehouse told me that I would not be able to upgrade to the 3G iPhone unless I paid the remainding 12 months of line rental (£420) with O2 through them to close the contract.

I’ve just registered my interest with Carphone Warehouse and the news from Apple and o2 this morning is that the new iPhone, launched last night (in case you’re still unaware), will be free on selected tarrifs.
